Once upon a time, nestled in the heart of South East Queensland, there was a small piece of land that would soon become a thriving little farm. This humble property was purchased by a passionate and determined couple Brooke & Doug with their teacup poodle Boston who had the dream of building their own little farm.

 

Bringing along their handsome palomino ‘Hollywood’, Brooke & Doug worked day and night under Boston’s watchful eye to build the infrastructure needed to help Hollywood settle into his new home. Hollywood started to gain a few more friends with Tuffy joining followed by miss Jewel not long after. 

 

In mid-2021, fate intervened when Brooke heard about three alpacas in desperate need of a loving home. Without hesitation, she and Doug made the journey to the Darling Downs, returning with three frightened but hopeful alpacas, ready to start a new chapter on their farm. Around the same time, Cooper also joined the family, giving Boston a playful companion and ensuring there was never a dull moment.

 

After shearing season had concluded, Brooke & Doug realised they had a mountain of fleece lying around and no idea what to do with it. Embracing her crafty side, Brooke began experimenting with ways to transform the fleece into beautiful, functional creations. With patience and dedication she perfected her craft, giving new life to the fibres and sharing its unique beauty with the world.

 

2024 was a year of both highs and lows. The farm said goodbye to its original three alpacas as they ventured off to new homes, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. A few months later, five new alpacas were welcomed to the farm, each bringing their own unique charm. But perhaps the most magical addition was Pickles, a tiny yet spirited miniature donkey. With a heart as big as her ears, she quickly became the farm’s little guardian, joyfully trotting behind her favourite humans, never missing a step in their daily adventures.

Fast forward to today, and Little Village Farm is thriving and sharing its beloved barnyard buddies with the world while diving headfirst into this wild adventure of business. But this is only the beginning. Brooke and Doug have BIG plans for the future, so stay tuned - there’s so much more to come!
